All powder-coated internal enzie spiral stairs are finished in-house by our Dulux accredited powder-coating team. All components go though an extensive pre-treatment process in preparation for powder-coating to ensure a durable high quality finish
Introducing the Dulux Electro Range
Designed to mimic anodised Aluminium the new Electro range of colours from Dulux is available on your enzie spiral stair without additional surcharge. Besides their excellent exterior durability compared to traditional anodised finishes, the Electro range of powder coatings have superior anti-staining properties.
Custom Colours
Should you want a colour other than one of enzie’s standard colours listed below then just ask. Any colour from the Dulux colour chart can be selected. If there is some stock of the colour left over from previous custom orders then this can be done for you without charge, otherwise a small surcharge is payable
Colour Chart
The only way to ensure accurate colour specification is to refer to colour samples or a Dulux colour chart. You can order a colour chart directly from Dulux by following this link: As a guide to enzie’s standard colours please refer to the list below:

Tropical Finish
All stairs sent to tropical environments, i.e QLD, NT and northern WA have an additional preparation work performed on them. They are primed in a vinyl etch primer and a polyurethane primer before power-coating

External Stairs
Powder-coated External stairs are made from Galvanised Steel before being primed and powder-coated. If the environment is highly corrosive we would recommend against powder-coated steel and rather would suggest Aluminium, Stainless Steel, or Hot Dip Galvanised finish.

The hot-dip galvanizing process uses a multi step process to prepare the steel and our particular stairs are done with a very high quality of care. We use a hot alkali solution, then a dilute acid solution, and finally dipped in flux or a heated bath of Zinc Ammonium chloride solution which ensure that all the rust, great, paint, oil, etc is completely removed. All those cleaning steps ensure that a proper bond can occur between the steel and zinc alloy dipping process which chemically bond the zinc protection to the steel. We then hand check each individual piece for quality and ensure no sharp edges are left from the galvanizing dip.
Note Hot Dip Galvinsed Steel is only available as an option on the Universal Range
enzie offers Stainless Steel as a finish for internal and external stairs. Stainless is used for it’s aesthetic and/or its corrosion resistance. For more information about Stainless Steel we suggest you visit the Australian Stainless Steel Development Association’s website. We have a summery below:
What is Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel is a generic term for a family of corrosion resistant alloy steels containing 10.5% or more chromium.
All stainless steels have a high resistance to corrosion. This resistance to attack is due to the naturally occurring chromium-rich oxide film formed on the surface of the steel. Although extremely thin, this invisible, inert film is tightly adherent to the metal and extremely protective in a wide range of corrosive media. The film is rapidly self repairing in the presence of oxygen, and damage by abrasion, cutting or machining is quickly repaired.
304 Stainless Steel
General purpose stainless steel with good corrosion resistance for most applications. Recommend for internal staircases and external stairs which are not being installed in a highly corrosive environment.
316 Stainless Steel
Used where higher corrosion resistance is required, ie marine environments and where salt is likely to build up on the stair and not be washed away.
